| The Free Clinic was founded in 1969 as a "street medicine" clinic that quickly found a niche and a permanent home in the Berkeley community. It has become an icon in the area, and has served countless thousands in a variety of ways during its 35-year history.
Fees have never been charged for any services, materials, medications or supplies provided at the Berkeley Free Clinic. Income has been generated solely via individual or organizational donations and government programs. |

| The Empowering Spirits Foundation, Inc. (ESF) is a non-profit, non-partisan grass-root based civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality. ESF members engage in service-oriented activities in communities typically opposed to equal rights. In working side-by-side with our non-LGBT neighbors they may come to see similarities rather than differences in each of us, and we can engage in dialogue through non-confrontational means to promote equality. Additionally, the ESF develops community awareness, collaborates with other coalitions, and empowers individuals and organizations to engage in the political process for equality through educational endeavors. |

| The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Transgender Historical Society (GLBTHS) collects, preserves, and interprets the history of GLBT people and the communities that support them. We sponsor exhibits and programs on an on-going basis.
Our exhibit galleries are open Tuesday through Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. The archives of the GLBTHS is one of the world's largest collections of primary source materials about GLBT history. Filmmakers, academics, journalists, students, and others use the archives to craft truthful and inspiring representations of GLBT people.
The professionally-staffed archives and reading room are open to GLBTHS members by appointment Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and to the general public on Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. The GLBTHS is a community-supported, 501c3. All contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
